🇨🇭 Marius Bear Represents Switzerland with ‘Boys Do Cry’

The Swiss Eurovision entry is officially out, with Marius Bear selected to sing ‘Boys Do Cry’. He will perform in the first half of the first semi-final this year.

The 28-year-old musician hails from Appenzell in Switzerland. His journey into the music scene was unique, with his talents realised while doing military service with the Swiss army.

One of my mates was impressed by the timbre of my voice,

We jammed together for the first time that very evening. I noticed immediately how liberating it is to be able to express my feelings through singing and music. That was the first step along my new pathway.

In 2016, Marius abandoned his plan to become a construction machinery mechanic to pursue his passion for music. He toured Germany and Switzerland as a street musician. During this time, he became acquainted with a famous producer who invited him to New York. Marius became part of the Swiss artistic and creative arts scene there.

The following year, he studied music in the UK at the prestigious BIMM Institute in London. It was in 2019 when he released his first album, ‘Not Loud Enough’ which hit the Top 20 in the Swiss album charts.

Now, the next challenge for Marius is Eurovision. Listen to his entry below:
